Feelin mellow

Feelin mellow

Summer is fast approaching and I can't wait. To get into the spirit I've put together a collection of pieces I've been lusting over to get in the mood for the warmer weather. I've been loving this muted yellow, almost green yellow. It's a gorgeous colour for both spring and summer and I just think it screams summer! Plus it looks great with a tan, especially the more neon yellow shades.

Whether you wear a full on yellow top or skirt, or just a touch of yellow with your accessories, I think it'll suit everyone. I'm in LOVE with this cross over skort from New Look. It's in trend with the skort trend, but because it's in a more unusual colour, rather than black or white, I think it will really make any outfit pop!

What's your fave colour for spring or summer?

The Chanel backpack

The Chanel backpack

I've been seeing this Chanel backpack every where recently, so I thought I'd put together some of my favourite, and ALOT cheaper alternatives. And although I couldn't find any really similar styles with the braid key chain detail on the front, i actually prefer the cheaper ones better. I'm loving this River Island, pale pink bag, which they also do in white and a bright orange (maybe black too, I can't remember). They are great for summer and holidays and also Festivals! (I did a blog post on festival must haves, check it out)

I have found some plain and some patterned ones, however I feel the plain styles will go with evey outfit and won't go out of style. I feel that if you think you'll fall out of love with an item that is very expensive, such as this Chanel bag, then it's not worth it. If you want to spend on a plot on a Chanel bag, go for a a style that won't go out of style in a year or two. I love designer handbags, don't get me wrong, but you need to ask yourself, will you regret spending that much on a fashion trend that might not be fashionable down the line. You what to be able to show it off in years to come and still have it be as fashioable and chic as the day you bought it!

Favourite brow products

Untitled #25

I love defined brows, they really are the frame to not just the eye but the whole face. I was about to take photos of my actual products, but they are so dirty looking, my Benefit brow kit is looking a bit worse for wear. So I created this instead, it's a lot clearer to see and a lot prettier and perfect looking.

I mostly use the powder side to my Benefit Brow Zings, it's so natural looking and really does last all day. I use my brow set to make sure they last all day and it's perfect on no makeup days just to add a slight bit of definition and shape. A good dupe I've tried recently it the Maybelline Brow Drama, it's a lot cheaper, and does pretty much the same thing. However it doesn't seem to have the power of the little fibres in the Benefit one that actually looks like the brow hairs are longer and thicker.

What are your favourite brow products?

Coral lips for SS14

I've really been loving coral recently, as you've probably seen from my blog lately, but especially in my makeup routine! I've been loving Smashbox's Melodrama and Mac's Costa Chic (crème sheen) lipsticks. The top swatch is Mac and the bottom is Smashbox. As you can see they are different, so if you don't want a bright orange lip, try and find one with a more pinky or red-y undertone. Have a hunt around and find the one that suits you best and experiment with different tones.

I've been loving a fresh, dewy highlighted face, simple eyes with a coral lip. It's just so simple and chic. I think they look great with all skin tones, but especially nice with blonde hair.

I really want a high street coral to add to my collection, so if you know of any, let me know!

Beauty for lazy girls | beauty tips

I have to admit, I'm one of those girls who would rather have an extra 20 minutes sleep in the morning, so over the years I've come up with some super easy, quick and fuss free tips that make getting ready in the morning slightly easier. I've collected these tips from personal experience and from reading magazines, blogs and talking to friends over the years, and I thought it was time to pass some of these tips over to you.

1. Blast your hair dryer on your eyelash curlers - this helps to keep your lashes curlier for longer, the same principle as your curling wand. Only heat them up for about 5 seconds and make sure they are not to hot before use, hold the hair dyer a reasonable distance away, not too close!

2. Do your hair whilst doing your makeup? - spray your hair in the morning with a sea salt spray and put your hair into plait/braid and then do your makeup, by the time you've finished making yourself look beautiful, your hair will be dry and have naturally wavy curls through it and no heat is needed!

3. Hairspray for brows- in a rush? Spray a small amount of hairspray on your spooly and brush through your brows. No unruly brows throughout out the day.

4. Highlight those lids- when I'm in a rush, I have no time to use eyeshadow, so I quickly use my finger to apply my highlighter on my lids. Adds a light shimmer and makes it look like I've made an effort.

5. Bronze that crease- I think everyone has done this, quickly through on some bronzer in the crease for a natural defined eye.

6. Hangover fix- if you're suffering from a hangover, first of have big glass of water, you're body will be very dehydrated and so will your skin. Stick to a dewy or satin finish foundation. It will make you look a lot more awake and hide that dull, dry skin.

7. No more orange knees or ankles- before applying your favourite tan, make sure your fully exfoliated! Then add a 'barrier' on troublesome spots. Use a regular moisturiser, on your knees, elbows, wrists, hand and ankles.

8. No more eyeliner transfer- before you apply eyeliner, gently wipe your upper and lower water line to remove any access oil, it will help to prevent your black tightline liner transferring on to your nude liner and your lower waterline.

9. No pain thresh hold? - before plucking your eyebrows get a face cloth and wet it with hot water, and place on your eyebrow before plucking. It will open the pores and reduce the pain. Don't burn yourself, not too hot.

10.  Perfect winged liner- put tape by your eye and trace along. A lot of people use this for eyeshadow as well, but it works a treat for liner too!

So those are some of my tips, I'll do another post with some more soon!

What are your best tips?

Glowing from within

Glowing from within

I'm in love with glowing skin right now. I love highlighter, whether they be a powder or liquid formula, I just can't get enough! Here are some favourites, ones I've been lusting over and some new ones I've found that have caught my eye. Let's all embrace our inner bronzed goddess and add a touch of shimmer and bronze to our daily makeup routine!
