With festival season right around the corner, I put together a check list style post for everything you'll need to get through the weekend. First of, this isn't going to be a post that magazines or other beauty bloggers do, where it's all sandals and lace tops, with pictures of girls walking around with perfectly curled hair in the blazing heat. It's going to be a realistic post on what you'll actually need. I had the best four days of my life at festivals, it's a weekend you'll remember forever!
I've put things in that are universal for both hot and cold climates, you'll have to pack depending on your weather of course but everything else is pretty universal. I went to Leeds festival- in the uk for those who aren't from the uk- and it wasn't the best weather, it was mild but thankfully it didn't rain. I wore mostly shorts with knee high sock or tights. I don't recommend jeans, because if it did rain they'd take ages to dry, they'd be heavy to walk around in and they'll make your pack super heavy- trust me it's a trek and a half from the car park entrance to the camp site and stage. (at Leeds anyway) Then on too hygiene, it's not pleasant, hey it's a festival with 1000s and 1000s of other people there.
So you'll need,
Shorts- a main pair and a spare
Tights or socks- lots of pairs
Tops- lots of spares again, incase of rain and mud.
Wellies- knee high ones, incase of deep mud
Waterproof jacket- a thin one, you can layer others underneath
A non water proof jacket- one you can wear alone of layer
Hand sanitiser- no explanation needed
Toilet roll-just in case there's none
Sun cream- tiny travel size
Dry shampoo
Torch- essential, fumbling around your tent in the dark is not fun
Lighter- also essential, for camp fires
Plaster/painkillers
Hair ties- can't have enough, no one likes greasy hair, and if it rains and it goes all frizzy
Flower crown- ha, had to put it in
Kimono- for those who have hot climates, looks pretty, and keeps the sun off without getting too hot
Tooth brush and tooth paste
Chewing gum
A day bag- you don't want to carry your massive back pack around and you want to leave your valuables in the tent all day. Make sure it's secure you don't want to get pick pocketed!
Hip flask- if you're of age and drink, sneak it in, and you'll save money in the actual stadium part.
Alcohol- for the camp site- again saves money
Food- stuff that doesn't need to be kept cool or will go off- prices are horrendous at festivals
Razor- if your legs are out, and if you're staying along time
Sunglasses
Face wipes/body wipes- the showers are vile and there always a queue
Deodorant
Body spray
A mirror- there are no mirrors anywhere, so essential
Body/face paint and glitter- just for fun
Any makeup products- bb cream, bronzer, lip balm, mascara and eyeliner. Don't over pack, you won't want to do a full on face and smokey eye, trust me!
Disposable camera- great fun, no need to worry if it gets lost and it's fun to see the photos when you get back, there's no 'oh I don't like that photo, delete it and take it again'
Bikini- if you do decide to brave the shower
TICKET
and of course all your tent and sleeping bag etc, underwear and things like that. If I have forgotten anything, let me know down below!
Festivals are an amazing experience!
